Varadero

Cuba, el calor y Varadero
(English version top down )

Cuba, the summer and the Varadero Beach

In Cuba the summer extends its wings until good entered a few “cold fronts” that originating of the north, refresh the island in the final months of the year and until April of the following one. And one fixes them stops between “north” and “north”, to strain itself with his suffocating heat. To thus it seems us that we have an eternal summer, which is not a problem if a beach or some water tank is had close of the sort. But what often it is had it is the sun sinking the backs and sweat running by the forehead as if one was a cataract: the beach is a constant illusion while the weekend arrives. There is one who “then adventure” in the public transport and is to arrive at beaches of the east, with its extensive sand strips. Or to those of the west, popular by its proximity to the capital and with its social circles, but of less ancestry. And it is also Varadero, the beach fetiche of the tourism in Cuba in which all we wanted to saturate sometimes. To arrive there is an adventure for the common of the Cubans. I must confess that it had before been for work reasons. The sea I saw from the window of the car. So that doing magic with transport and time (and with a hotel reservation that as prize gained my girlfriend Leslie), we left the last weekend, determined to arrive at the famous bath of the Matanzas province. With luck we arrived at ten, at night somewhat cold one at this time. The hotel was not of the best thing, at least what we hoped like good Cuban. But we accommodated soon, like good Cuban also. And soon the fatigue of a trip of but of 8 hours, (in a section that is crossed naturally in two) I do not leave but space us for watch, so we put in the bed until entered the morning of the following day. After having breakfast we went to the sea, to walk constantly by the coast since they do so many of a side for the other. Twenty kilometers of beach to cross without preoccupations of any class. And an excellent climate in addition, propitious to unholster the camera to make my photographies, that are, of everything what I know to do, which I like more. And with which I gain the life. We crossed the border of the beach during four days. Visitors of “outside”, as he says himself in the islands; Cuban which they arrived like us, touched with “tach of glory”; fishermen and salesmen of crafts, in front of marched past my camera next to vegetables and shells thrown by the sea on the dune. And some that another adventurous crab. Everything a singular world of leisure. We were discovering Varadero with the glance of the visitor that sees the things for the first time, but without giving much attention to the tourist infrastructure, of which single we used to spend the night and to eat, things that we had done with taste in creeks of the beach if there were restaurant to our reach there. And we returned Monday, with better star than in the inaugural trip, to the warm city, bullanguera and estridente that is Havana, to dream about a weekend of frech and relax beach, “perhaps not so distant” as Varadero.
