Del campamento de Rio La Mula, salimos todos para el punto de partida en la base del macizo montañoso de la Sierra Maestra.
Los guardabosques nos aconsejan y desean buena suerte.
Nos adentramos en el monte con sobrado entusiasmo. Pronto nos veremos en medio del bosque lluvioso tropical, una maravilla de la naturaleza en Cuba.
El sendero nos conduce, bajo un techo de helechos arborecentes, hacia la cima de 1.972 mts.
Esfuerzo y voluntad, mas que fuerza, determinaran el exito del ascenso.
Apenas un breve descanso en el Pico Cuba, antesala del Turquino, y continuamos hasta coronar la montaña y abrazarnos al busto del Apóstol.
Entonces la foto del grupo con la satisfacción estampada en el rostro. Luego el retorno, y la noche de guitarra junto al fuego en el campamento. Mañana nos esperan Las Pozas.
From Rio La Mula camping, we left all for the departure point in the base of the mountainous bulk of the Sierra Maestra. The foresters advise and wish good luck to us. We entered ourselves in the mount with exceeded enthusiasm. Soon we will see ourselves in the middle of the tropical rainy forest, a wonder of the nature in Cuba. The footpath leads to us, under a ceiling of ferns, towards the top of 1,972 mts. Effort will determined the success of the ascent. Hardly a brief rest in the Cuba Tip, waiting room of the Turquino, and we continued until crowning the mountain and embracing us to the bust of the Apostle. Then the photo of the group with the satisfaction printed in the face. Soon the return, and the night of guitar next to the fire in the camping. Tomorrow Las Pozas wait for us.
